Welcome to the Bluegrass Chapter of the Austin-Healey Club of America! The Bluegrass Austin-Healey Club can trace its roots all the way back to 1958. The Bluegrass Austin-Healey Club is one of the worlds oldest and most active Austin-Healey Clubs. The Club started in 1958 as the Kentuckiana Sprite Club and our club incorporated in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in April 1961 as the Kentuckiana Sprite Club, Inc. In 1964, we became a chapter of the factory sponsored Austin-Healey Club as the Kentucky Centre. The Kentucky Centre was one of six US sanctioned clubs. Other U.S. clubs at that time included the Los Angeles, Fresno, San Francisco, Illinois and Missouri Centres. Following the demise of the factory club, the Bluegrass Club operated independently until 1978. The Bluegrass Club was then sanctioned as a chapter of the Austin Healey Club of America at the Conclave in 1978. The 1978 Conclave was hosted by the Bluegrass Club in Louisville and was the proud host of honored guest Geoffrey Healey. In 1993 the Bluegrass Club once again hosted a very successful Conclave. We currently have over eighty members in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Our club is one of the forty six chapter clubs of the AHCA in the US and Canada. We have sister clubs in nearby Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Nashville and Dayton that we often share events with. The Austin Healey Club of America has over three thousand members. Activities: This month the Bluegrass Club will take part in an annual tradition, the Louisville St. Patrick's Day parade. Hosted rain or shine on the Bardstown/Barret corridor, this is always a great event and makes for a fun afternoon. Website: The Bluegrass chapter of the Austin Healey Club of America entered the modern age back in the early 1990's when Jim Werner set out to bring information about our club to the community via the world wide web. Jim pioneered the clubs entry onto the web and due to Jim's journey we now this informative and wonderful website. |
